It appears the Walt Disney World Skyliner will end 2019 with even more malfunctions. The news comes from the guests themselves, who took to Twitter and other social media to share their story of spending a portion of their weekend stuck in the Disney gondolas.
Guests onboard reported being stuck on the Skyliner for so long, they were instructed to open the emergency kits. One guest almost had a panic attack while stuck.
Here are a few of those tweets documenting the Skyliner issues guests experienced over the weekend:

I know it is good to face your fears and whatnot, but I am never getting on the #DisneySkyliner. Never.

Problems with the Doors
Other ride issues include problems with the Gondola doors. While some Gondolas are roped off for official use, others show issues with doors opening, closing, and remaining closed. Imagine being on your way to EPCOT and the doors to your gondola flop open while you’re up in the air. This issue sparks memories of when the Monorail doors opened after being struck by a motorized scooter.
Has not reported any shut down of the Skyliner. However, Guest Services has been responsive to complaints.
Hi, Rachel. I'm sorry for any disappointment with our complimentary transportation. While the Disney Skyliner may experience delays from time to time, our bus transportation is always available. I encourage you to speak with your Front Desk should you have any questions. -Nina

But despite these issues, the Walt Disney World Skyliner remains as popular as ever. In fact, Walt Disney World extended the operating hours of the Skyliner to 2 am for guests at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for their New Year’s Eve celebrations.
About The Disney Skyliner
The Skyliner is the latest Walt Disney World complimentary transportation system. It’s a gondola cable car much like what you would find at a Ski resort. The Skyliner was designed to be a stylish, environmentally-friendly, and faster alternative to bus transportation. It connects guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
