When Guests visit Walt Disney World Resort, there are a ton of transportation options available to them, but one will soon be shut down for a period of time.

Of course, Guests can choose to self-drive to their locations, but this also means that they would have to pay the daily parking fee at their Resort each night, and if they are not Annual Passholders, they would need to pay to park at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney provides Disney bus transportation to the Parks and Disney Springs from every Resort, which is the primary mode of transportation for many. Buses run very often to ensure that even large lines of Guests can be transported quickly.

The monorail is the next form of transit that many Disney fans utilize. In order to get to Magic Kingdom, many Guests have to use the monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center. Also, Guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can take the monorail directly to Magic Kingdom.
The newest form of transit is the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner travels to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the following Resorts:
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (this is the central Skyliner hub)
- Disney’s Riviera Resort

Starting on Sunday, January 23 to January 28, the EPCOT International Gateway, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be closed. Guests can use Disney buses and the Friendship boats during this time. When the Skyliner runs as it is meant to, Disney does not run their busses to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios very often, but as it will be down for multiple days, Guests will see the buss frequency increase greatly for both Parks.

Walt Disney World describes this mode of transportation as:
