When you wish upon a star, it makes no difference who you are. At least that’s what Disney has taught us our whole lives. So why is it that we only see little girls embracing their favorite Disney Princesses in so many of Disney’s marketing campaigns? Boys can love Disney Princesses, too!
We’re not sure, but one artist has combined his artistic talents and his passion for all things Disney to create beautiful artwork that celebrates the men who grew up loving Disney Princesses and their stories, and the young princes and pirates who love them today.
Palacio describes himself as “a Brazilian freelance illustrator who dreams with Disney,” and his Instagram is full of the evidence to back up his claims. Palacio’s artwork has a dream-style look to it, and every piece of his Disney-inspired artwork seems to further explore the beloved characters they depict.
What young prince wouldn’t love to have the “Belle” of the ball on his arm? This piece features a young prince dressed as Beast himself. How sweet!
This piece speaks to us, as if it’s asking why can’t boys paint with all the colors of the wind too?
We love both of these pieces inspired by Snow White. In the first piece, Snow White embraces her young fan. It’s only fitting, right? Snow White is used to taking care of all the boys–Doc, Dopey, Sneezy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful and Grumpy. What’s one more? The more, the merrier! And in the second piece, Snow White kneels down to say hello to another young fan.
And any artist that pays homage to the blue dress–and not just the pink one–is as good as gold in my book. Take your pick and make it pink…or blue!
In this photo, Palacio compares the piece he created to the real-life pose in front of him. We love how the little boy is gazing into Ariel’s eyes. Priceless!
Marciano Palacio is a bit of a Disney Princess fan himself. He even created this piece to describe himself as an artist and to introduce himself to his fans. Notice Snow White and Ariel in prominent places in his piece.
But Palacio knows that little girls will always love their Disney Princesses, and he has created pieces that depict that timeless love.
