If a picture is worth a thousand words, Disney’s PhotoPass is worth a million.
Disney’s PhotoPass at Walt Disney World is a service that allows guests to get photos of the entire family, so no one is ever left out. And later this year, PhotoPass will be celebrating it’s 15th anniversary! In honor of this milestone, we put together a “Know Before You Go” list of things you may not have realized about this service at Walt Disney World.
Disney’s Memory Maker service allows guests to download all of your Disney PhotoPass photographs and videos that are captured during your vacation–all for one price. If you purchase Memory Maker three or more days before your vacation starts, it will cost you $169. If you aren’t sure if Memory Maker is for you and you decide to wait and purchase during or after your vacation, it will cost $199.
In honor of the 15th anniversary of Disney’s PhotoPass, Walt Disney World is offering Eligible Service Members and their spouses Memory Maker at a special price of $98. And if photos mean a lot to you and your family, this may be a great deal for you.
For specific details about this offer, including applicable terms and conditions, visit Walt Disney World’s website.
After you visit a photo booth whether that be in the parks or over at Disney Springs, guests will have the opportunity to take home a digital download of the photo strips they capture (as well as all of their other PhotoPass photos) as part of the Memory Maker service.
Onboard Photo Capture
There are a total of 13 Walt Disney World attractions that offer onboard photo capture. Once you link the attraction photo captured to your Disney account at attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, or (recently added) Haunted Mansion, you will also see an animated magic shot/video!
Take a look at Disney’s example below:
Super Zoom Magic Shot
Recently, Walt Disney World added a new Super Zoom Magic Shot which allows guests to capture the family in front of Cinderella’s Castle like never before.
With weather permitting, from 9am through 7pm, guests can look for a photographer in the East Plaza Garden at Magic Kingdom, who will assist with capturing a one-of-a-kind video as well as two photographs from a different perspective.
Although guests can preview all of these in their Disney account, the video is only downloadable for those with Memory Maker. Take a look at the example below:
Head over to the Marketplace at Disney Springs, the second floor at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, or Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom to access the PhotoPass Studio. Open to all guests with no reservation needed, this allows families to capture photos in front of either a standard backdrop or an assortment of Disney-themed virtual backdrops.
It wouldn’t be Walt Disney World without a little bit of magic, right? Disney’s popular Magic Shots allow photographers to sprinkle a little bit of pixie dust on guests’ photographs.
There are more than 50 Magic Shots across Walt Disney World property, but they are constantly changing. You can ask a PhotoPass photographer for any Magic Shots they offer, or if you are looking for something specific, they can point you in the right direction.
