Attention, “Star Wars” fans. You can’t bring every souvenir home with you after you visit a galaxy far, far away. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has officially banned Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Coke bottles from carry-on and checked luggage.

As seen in the Tweet below, The TSA recently replied to an inquiry regarding the Coke bottles found in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Those who have been paying attention to the souvenirs found in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are familiar with the interesting (and, some would say, innovative) design of Coke products sold in the land at Disneyland in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. These Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Sprite bottles are designed to look like the spherical explosive weapons used in “Star Wars” films.
But even though so many fans are so excited about their opportunity to purchase the explosive-looking Coke bottles in Galaxy’s Edge, TSA isn’t as eager. It’s illegal to bring them on an airplane…even though they aren’t explosives.
Earlier this month, TSA shared that “replica and inert explosives aren’t allowed in either carry-on or checked bags.” And this week, they followed up and shared, “Even with a normal bottle cap, this item is still considered a replica and is not allowed in carry-on or checked bags. If our officers discover a replica item during screening and believe it’s real, the item will be treated as such until advised otherwise by law enforcement.”
Thanks for asking! Replica and inert explosives aren't allowed in either carry-on or checked bags.

We wouldn’t want this ban to keep you from living out your dreams of purchasing an Aurebesh-labeled Coke bottle on your visit to Batuu. Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to bring this bottle with you at all on your flight home. We understand fan frustration with a policy like this. But hey–if banning Coke bottles that can easily be confused with detonators is a way to keep those TSA lines at the Orlando airport shorter, then we’re all for it.
What do you think of the TSA’s recent ban on souvenir Coke bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Let us know in the comments!
