What a night! From a brand new attraction to a new logo unveiling to an official name announced for the superhero land, there was so much to keep up with. That is why we put together an entire recap of everything that happened during preview night at D23 Expo!
Star Wars Hotel Details Revealed
We now know the name of the highly anticipated new Star Wars hotel coming to Walt Disney World. Ann Morrow John, Executive Producer of Walt Disney Imagineering, shared a model of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which is named the Halcyon.

What makes this hotel unique is that Disney is pushing the idea that you won’t be staying in a hotel – you will be staying on board a ship. You can see how massive this star cruiser will be as it is placed next to the Millennium Falcon to show the scale.
New Moana Attraction Coming to Epcot
During the media preview, Bob Chapek announced that there will be a first-ever attraction based on the popular hit animation, “Moana”. Although details regarding this were pretty vague, what we do know is this attraction will be placed in Epcot and will be called “Journey of Water“.

Jodi McLaughlin, the Executive Producer of Walt Disney Imagineering, described the experience and that “guests can actually interact and play with magic living water.” How cool is that? We really hope we learn more details about this new attraction at Sunday’s panel.
“Avengers Campus”
Everyone has been anxiously awaiting to find out more information about the upcoming super-hero themed land at Disney’s California Adventure and now we finally have some answers!
The official name of the new land will be called “Avengers Campus” and we hope to get even more details come Sunday.

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “The Mandalorian” Sneak Peeks
Attendees of D23 will get an inside look at the new “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” upcoming series, as well as a sneak peek of the highlight, anticipated Jon Favreau series “The Mandalorian”, which will debut on November 12 on the Disney+ streaming service.

“Star Wars” fans are overly excited to see more on these series throughout the weekend and we will be sure to share all of those details with you once released!
New Epcot Attraction Posters and Logo
These posters were created by pop-culture artists Eric Tan and Stacey Aoyama and are now on display at D23 Expo!
These vivid designs depict many of Epcot’s famous attractions, which are no longer in the park. Norway’s Maelstrom, Kitchen Karbaret, Wonders of Life, Universe of Energy, and Communicore are all paid tribute to in these posters.

There were also posters highlighting current attractions, such as Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Frozen Ever After and Gran Fiesta Tour.

And of course, Tan had to include depictions of the new upcoming attractions that we cannot wait for such as the new Ratatouille-themed attraction and “Journey of Water”, the newly announced Moana attraction.

Also announced was Epcot’s new logo design, which you can also find at the bottom of each poster.
There were so many breaking stories and new updates announced and it was only the D23 preview night! We can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the weekend. Stay tuned for all D23 news right here on Inside The Magic.
