Walt Disney World is the most magical place on earth with immersive rides, amazing food, and one-of-a-kind experiences for kids. While a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort is fun for the whole family, and the theme parks and resort hotels are filled with plenty of experiences that adults can enjoy, there are so many opportunities for kids to feel special while on a vacation. Here’s our list of fun experiences for your little ones at Walt Disney World.
1. Millennium Falcon and Cinderella Carriage strollers
Now, your little Han Solo, Jedi, Prince, or Princess can ride around the Magic Kingdom in style with these awesome strollers from Fantasy Strollers. These strollers are dropped off at a designated location at the Walt Disney World theme park of your choice and can be rented for children up to age 9. Fantasy Strollers recommends booking your stroller rental approximately 6-8 months in advance in order to secure the experience for your child. Currently, Carriage stroller rentals are available for rent, and Spaceship stroller rentals are available for preorder.
2. Haircut on Main Street U.S.A.
Did you know your child can get their first haircut on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom? That’s right: Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom is a fully operating barber shop in Town Square where children (and even adults!) can get their hair cut. What makes this place so special is the My First Haircut package, which includes commemorative Mickey ears and a certificate for you and your child to cherish and remember the experience. Check it out on the Walt Disney World website.
3. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover
Your little knight or princess can get a royal makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs. Children ages 3 through 12 can experience amazing makeovers courtesy of Fairy Godmothers-in-Training, who will make all of their dreams come true. Prices vary depending on the package that you select for your child, but every experience will be a memorable one. Check out the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom or at Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs.
4. Tea party with a princess
What little prince or princess wouldn’t want to have a royal tea party with their favorite Disney heroine? At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, your child can have a Disney Princess Tea Party, where they will hear magical stories and dine with Princess Aurora. Children will also receive special gifts for participating in the tea party. This experience will be unforgettable for your prince and princess, and advanced dining reservations are highly recommended. Learn more about what is included in the Disney Princess Tea Party here.
5. Pony rides and horseback riding lessons
Walt Disney World is the place where your child can have their dreams come true…and that includes riding a pony or a horse for the first time! At Fort Wilderness, toddlers and young children can participate in pony rides, and children (and even adults!) age 9 and older can take horseback riding lessons. Check out the official Walt Disney World website for more information on recreation at Fort Wilderness.
