Disney has some thrilling news for fans of its villains! During the D23 fan event in September, Disney announced plans for a Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, set to be part of the ambitious “Beyond Big Thunder” expansion.

This new area promises to be a dream come true for those who root for the baddies, featuring attractions, dining, and shopping. Construction is set to kick off in 2025, and while it will take a few years to complete, there’s even more exciting villain-themed fun coming sooner.

Over at Hollywood Studios, Sunset Boulevard will be transformed to host a brand-new nighttime show called Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After.

Announced during the Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular, this show is set to debut in summer 2025. The name is a clever twist on the beloved Happily Ever After show, and the production promises appearances from iconic villains like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. If you’re a fan of Disney’s evildoers, this will be a must-see.

The show will take over the space currently occupied by Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, which closed in October to make way for a revamped theater with updated seating and other upgrades. Nestled in the shadow of the Tower of Terror, this new location will set the perfect spooky stage for the villains to shine.

With all this villainous energy brewing, Walt Disney World Resort is clearly embracing the dark side in a big way. It’s an exciting time to be a Disney fan, especially if you’ve always found yourself cheering for the antagonists. Between the Villains Land expansion at Magic Kingdom and this electrifying new show at Hollywood Studios, the next few years will be filled with wicked fun.

What are your thoughts on these developments? Are there any other villains you’d love to see featured in the show? Share your ideas and get ready to plan your visit to experience this darkly delightful magic firsthand!
