On Wednesday, Disneyland Park opened in meltdown mode, disappointing thousands of Southern California locals and visitors. Disney Park guests spoke out online after frantically running from ride to ride, hoping to find an open attraction that wouldn’t deny their entry.

Ride shutdowns are routine at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Most breakdowns last less than an hour and won’t impact Disney Park guests long-term. Unfortunately, Disneyland Resort guests got unlucky on Wednesday morning.

Reddit user u/LeopardAdditional525 spoke out when they arrived at Disneyland Park and found that “everything” they wanted to ride was shut down: “So many of the main big ticket rides are closed. Anyone know why?”
Indiana Jones Adventure, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were among the attractions that didn’t open alongside Disneyland Park on Wednesday.
“It was pretty rough today,” u/dericiouswon added.

u/thatguyfromlasvegas wondered if last night’s earthquake 90 miles from Anaheim could’ve impacted Disneyland Resort ride opening times:
“There was a 3.3 earthquake in the inland empire last night…not sure if it’d affect the parks, but they might still be completing post-quake check ups to make sure the rides are safe to ride.”
Numerous Disneyland Park attractions are also closed for scheduled maintenance, including Space Mountain, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Disneyland Railroad, and the Disneyland Monorail. Splash Mountain closed permanently on May 31 to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opens on November 15, 2024.

At the time of this article’s publication, most temporarily closed Disneyland Park attractions had reopened. Disneyland Resort didn’t comment publicly on this morning’s ride closures.
