Despite recently receiving a cease and desist order, Six Flags is determined to climb atop the theme park industry following its billion-dollar merger.
Earlier this year, Six Flags dethroned Disney Parks and its competitors, becoming North America’s largest and most diverse amusement park operator following a billion-dollar merger with Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.
Thanks to this merger, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation boasts a jaw-dropping portfolio of 27 amusement parks and 15 water parks in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, attracting 48 million visitors yearly.
Sadly, the theme park giant recently encountered a significant obstacle, with a local government blocking one of the company’s projects with an immediate cease and desist.

In efforts to provide new experiences for all guests and keep up with the company’s international standards, Six Flags Mexico recently revealed plans to develop an all-new “A Type roller coaster” in the theme park.
Unfortunately, the project would require cutting down over 100 trees in the area, which quickly triggered a response from the Ministry of Environment. The ministry rejected the project and forced Six Flags to cease all current actions and find a new location for the planned roller coaster.

While Six Flags agreed to this mandate and is reevaluating the project, this hasn’t stopped the company from setting other million-dollar investments in motion across its theme parks in North America.
Cedar Point, for example, recently announced that Snake River Falls will shut down permanently on September 2 to make way for an exciting expansion at the Ohio amusement park. More details on this investment will be revealed later.
But Six Flags’ plans won’t stop there.
