“Life is a highway!” Disneyland Resort fans were shocked last week when they spotted two Disney Park props speeding down the roadway.
This isn’t the first time fans have spotted Disney Park props traveling on the highway. In January, a Southern California local shared a photo of artificial snow caps from Sleeping Beauty Castle on a truck to a storage facility at the end of Disneyland Resort’s holiday season.
In 2012, D23 shared the process of tagging and transferring a Maleficent head from Fantasmic! to the Walt Disney Archives. More photos and insider details about the legendary animatronic’s move are available here.

Last week, Redditor u/False_Celebration923 shared this photo of Buzz Lightyear and Woody-inspired cars traveling on a flatbed truck on a Southern California highway. The Disney Parks fan was upset that Disney cast members didn’t cover the characters to “preserve magic.”

“If [Disneyland Resort] goes above and beyond to preserve the magic at their parks from theming to cleanliness, I’m simply wondering why they can’t throw a tarp over these to keep the magic alive so to speak,” the user wrote. “Obviously it’s not on the park but it seems to me that people seeing props over the park disrupts the image of the park. Is it simply to save money or logistics?”
Most Disney Parks fans felt the opposite.

“I don’t think seeing props disrupts the magic,” u/RandomFunUsername replied. “If anything it’s like a fun Easter egg. Costumes or like, a centerpiece for a new ride (Tiana’s for example) would for sure. But just statues I think is fine. Don’t know why they made that choice but I’d think it’s super cool if I drove past one.”
u/couchred called it “free advertising”: “Imagine a kid seeing this from their car and asking [their] parents to go see them in the park…Plus adults like your self taking pics and posting them for [others] to see which gets people thinking about the theme parks.”

The Toy Story (1995) and Cars (2006) crossover props are most frequently used in Cars Land during the annual Pixar Fest event at Disney California Adventure Park. This year’s event begins on April 26 and ends on August 4, suggesting the two Disney Park props are preparing for a triumphant return to Disneyland Resort!
