After years of representing excellence and quality, the Knott’s Berry Farm brand has been discontinued from grocery store shelves across America.

While Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood garner the most theme park attention in Southern California, locals will tell you that their favorite park is Knott’s Berry Farm. Now over 100 years old, Knott’s is home to countless iconic attractions, including the Calico Mine Ride, the Timber Mountain Log Ride, Ghost Town Alive, and Knott’s Scary Farm, the first-ever theme park Halloween event.

That being said, Knott’s influence goes beyond the amusement park, with a national brand of jellies, cookies, and other items that can be purchased at your local grocery store. At least, that was the case until the iconic brand was quietly discontinued by its owner.

The original Knott’s Berry Farm started exactly as the name implies, as a berry farm. Founded By Walter Knott, the birthplace of the boysenberry quickly became a tourist stop famous for its attractions and food cooked by Cordelia Knott, such as fried chicken and various boysenberry items like pies and preserves.

Much like how the amusement park was eventually sold to Cedar Fair, the Knott’s factory and brand were eventually sold to Smuckers, who put the Berry Farm name on multiple products, such as cookies, jellies, and jams. However, after acquiring Hostess in 2023, it seems Smuckers is done with the Knott’s Berry Farm name.

All products with the name have slowly been removed from shelves, and the official Knott’s Foods website has been updated to read, “Knott’s Berry Farm brand has been discontinued and is no longer being sold,” followed by a link to the greater Smuckers website.

Naturally, fans are upset with this news, with one person even complaining that Hostess was “cannibalizing” its own brand. However, for all those fans who will surely miss seeing the Knott’s name in stores, don’t fret! There is still one more way to get some Knott’s Berry goodness in your home.

While it is sad that the beloved brand is no longer available at stores, that doesn’t mean that all Knott’s items are gone forever. In fact, there is a wider variety of items available from the theme park itself.

The official brand name for food products actually sold at the amusement park is Berry Market. If you go to the Knott’s Online Marketplace, you can buy various jams, snacks, and other much higher quality items than the brand you’d find in the store. So even though Knott’s is gone from your local grocery store, the spirit of the original Berry Farm lives on.
