Mickey Mouse is undergoing a makeover in April 2026, alongside other iconic characters, including Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.

From his black-and-white beginnings in Steamboat Willie (which is now technically in the public domain) to his red shorts and cheerful smile, Mickey’s look has evolved with each generation. Disney has continued to reimagine the character, giving him everything from sparkling anniversary outfits to seasonal attire for events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Every few years, Mickey’s wardrobe expands with new costumes designed to fit the occasion – whether it’s a milestone celebration or a limited-time event. His Disney100 look shimmered with platinum accents, while his Halloween costume at Disneyland Resort for 2025 incorporates the purple and green elements of his Disneyland70 fit.

Now, yet another reinvention is on the horizon.

New Look Unveiled For Mickey Mouse

Beginning April 15, 2026, Tokyo DisneySea will debut a brand-new look for Mickey and friends as part of Tokyo DisneySea 25th Sparkling Jubilee. The celebration marks 25 years of the beloved park, known for its oceanic themes and detailed storytelling, and often considered the best Disney theme park in the world.

The costumes for Tokyo DisneySea’s anniversary event “Tokyo DisneySea 25th ‘Sparkling Jubilee'”, which will be held starting April 15, 2026, have been revealed for the first time✨

The costumes of Disney’s friends are unified in a special color “Jubilee Blue” inspired by the various charms of the sea in the park🌟

Let’s celebrate a special year together at Tokyo DisneySea wrapped in Jubilee Blue🎶

For the anniversary, Mickey and his friends will don costumes unified by a special hue known as Jubilee Blue – a color inspired by the park’s connection to the sea and its many adventures. Each character’s outfit incorporates nautical flourishes that celebrate DisneySea’s maritime spirit.

During the Sparkling Jubilee Celebration, Mickey and friends will sail into Mediterranean Harbor aboard a specially decorated barge. Guests can look forward to seeing their favorite characters dressed in Jubilee Blue as they wave from the water and celebrate the milestone in true Disney style.

The festivities continue with Dance the Globe! — a limited-time show at Waterfront Park in the American Waterfront. Mickey invites friends from around the world to join him, featuring appearances by Rapunzel from Tangled (2010), Hiro from Big Hero 6 (2014), and Mirabel from Encanto (2021), with the latter making her Tokyo DisneySea debut.

When night falls, the facade of Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta will come alive with projection effects set to the event’s original theme song, transforming the harbor into a glittering symphony of light and color.

And, of course, no Disney celebration is complete without themed treats.

Throughout the anniversary, guests can enjoy special menus, decorative food wagons, and exclusive items served across restaurants dressed in 25th-anniversary décor.

The anniversary arrives at a pivotal moment for Tokyo DisneySea, following the grand opening of Fantasy Springs in 2024 — the park’s most ambitious expansion to date, with areas inspired by Peter Pan (1953), Tangled, and Frozen (2013). Rumors suggest that more change is on the horizon, including a possible Port Discovery expansion and the replacement of Aquatopia, one of the park’s original opening-day attractions.
