5Walt Disney World Resort has again shuttered its version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the only currently operating iteration of the Splash Mountain retheme. As a result, thousands of Magic Kingdom Park guests were unable to use their Virtual Queue and Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservations.

The Princess and the Frog (2009) ride opened at Magic Kingdom Park in June, while Disneyland Resort’s version is scheduled to premiere on November 15. Ahead of its grand opening, Walt Disney World Resort’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure experienced repeated maintenance issues. Multiple Annual Passholder and Disney cast member ride previews were canceled.
Even after opening day, issues continued. Advanced audio-animatronic malfunctions and other technical problems have forced numerous hours-long shutdowns, disappointing thousands of Magic Kingdom Park guests.
On Monday, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was closed from Magic Kingdom Park’s opening through the early afternoon. Consequently, the My Disney Experience app didn’t open the second Virtual Queue registration window, which is usually available to Disney Park guests at 1:00 p.m.
Days later, the rethemed Splash Mountain experienced further issues. According to Reddit user u/Amaterasu2507, the log flume ride was closed for at least two hours on Wednesday:
“Tiana has been down for 2 hours
I’ve been waiting for Tiana to ride but its been 2 hours and nothing and I still have TRON later and the rest of Fantasyland if its not working when the parade ends Im canceling the VQ”
According to the My Disney Experience app, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure eventually reopened and was operating normally at publication time.
Other Disney Parks fans reported that the Frontierland ride experienced similar issues on Tuesday, August 27.

“It was down yesterday till 5:30,” u/NRM1109 commented.
“That drove me insane,” u/LETS_MAKE_IT_AWKWARD replied. “I had a [Lightning Lane] yesterday for Tiana’s that I never used because I left around 4. Of course it was back up just in time for [Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party].”
TikTok user @hanseliz98 was evacuated from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Tuesday and shared this video:

“Not upset, this is the one ride I would want to be stuck on,” the Disney Park guest wrote. “…I counted it as luck because the ride was closed the rest of the day after I left.”
