Universal Orlando’s seasonal events add an extra layer of excitement to any visit. Halloween Horror Nights, held annually in the fall, features terrifying haunted houses, scare zones, and live shows. This year, six original houses have been confirmed: Slaughter Sinema 2 and Goblin’s Feast, as well as Major Sweets Candy Factory, The Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Triplets of Terror and Monstrous: The Monsters of Latin America.

During the holiday season, the resort transforms into a winter wonderland with Grinchmas, featuring live shows and festive decorations, and Macy’s Holiday Parade with giant balloons and performances. The Mardi Gras celebration brings the vibrant energy of New Orleans to the park with colorful parades, authentic Cajun cuisine, and concerts by top artists.

For entertainment and nightlife, Universal CityWalk is the resort’s hub, offering a plethora of dining, shopping, and nightlife options. You can shop, sing your heart out at Rising Star karaoke bar with a live band, or enjoy Caribbean cuisine and live reggae music at Bob Marley – A Tribute to Freedom.

Recently, some theming from the resort has been removed and new announcements have been put into place.

Universal guest Ethan Hershaft noticed that within each of the six themed parking garages, the themed audio, such as the Jaws theme song in the Jaws lot, has been removed, and new announcements have been added to the area.

New audio spiels have been added in both Universal parking garages, moving walkways, and the security hub before the security checkpoint.

“Seems like themed audio has been removed in the garages for each of the 6 characters where guests can park.”

Now, the announcement says, “Welcome to Universal Orlando Resort; please make note of where you parked. To access CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida, and Islands of Adventure, please proceed to the level 3 walkway. Information for all parks can be found by downloading the Universal Orlando app. Please watch your step. Transportation to Volcano Bay is located on ground level 1.”

There is also a new announcement on the moving walkway that will play for guests once they make it through security.

“We also have another new audio spiel along the moving walkways into CityWalk”

Overall, it is unfortunate that these new messages mean that the initial audio theming in the parking garages have had to be removed, but it seems likely that as the summer season approaches and the parks get busier, these instructional messages will help guide and direct guests who may not know where they are going or what to do.

It is also not a bad idea to remind guests to ensure that they look to see where the parked, so that they are not lost between two parking garages and multiple levels at the end of the night.

This summer, Universal will introduce an exciting new show at Islands of Adventure called Hogwarts Always, projected onto Hogwarts Castle. Additionally, Universal Studios Florida will debut the nighttime show Cinesational: A Symphonic Spectacular.

The show will highlight a variety of beloved films, including Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, Jurassic World, Jaws, Shrek, Ghostbusters, Trolls, Back to the Future, Universal Monsters, Transformers, How to Train Your Dragon, E.T., Fast and Furious, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Minions, The Mummy, and King Kong.

On June 14th, the new DreamWorks land will open, featuring dedicated sections for Trolls, Shrek, and Kung-Fu Panda. Just weeks later, on July 3rd, the Universal Mega Movie Parade will make its debut, celebrating iconic films such as E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Illumination’s Minions, Sing, and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.
