Hardcore Bluey buffs have been clinging to social media and waiting with bated breath as the 28-minute-long season finale finally brings things to a close. Billed as the “biggest ever” Bluey episode, “The Sign” is the series’ first special episode, and it’s predicted to be a tremendous event that no one should miss.

As exciting as it is, only some have access to Disney+, Disney Junior, or a streaming service connected to the BBC. However, fans who still want to watch the Bluey event of the year have more than a few options to still catch the episode. However, said options might not come without strings attached.

To say that  Bluey’s season finale will attract many viewers would be a grand and glorious understatement, but the actual size of the event presents itself the moment other networks get involved. It’s no secret that Australia’s little blue heeler has attracted an audience of enormous proportions, reaching both kids and adults with its intoxicatingly pleasant programming, but “The Sign” might not be as accessible as some might believe.

Bluey might have a permanent international home on Disney+ and Disney Junior, but there are other places fans can get their fix. A recent report from Syracuse shared that the show can be found across other streaming platforms including Fubo, Direct TV, and Sling, and that they are also offering a way for fans to see the upcoming finale for free.

In perhaps an unexpectedly brilliant marketing strategy, the platforms listed above all include Bluey as part of their free-trial packages, making the final episode more accessible to viewers without the more popular Disney+ subscription. While it might be a utilitarian option, it’s still not the same as getting the complete package.

So What’s the Problem

Humans can be notorious creatures of habit, and anyone with a streaming subscription of any sort knows how addicting certain series can be. That’s why we have terms like “binge-watching.”

Given the fact that Bluey has already broken several streaming records, and is currently one of the most popular shows on our screens, its safe to say not many viewers will be satisfied with just one free trial. Therein lieth the rub.

It’s not the most convenient way to tune into what will likely be the animated event of the year, but it fills a need for many fans. Bluey’s latest episodes start streaming worldwide April 7, 2024 with “Ghostbasket” and April 14, 2024 with “The Sign.”
