A Few Universal Orlando Attractions Will Close for a Lengthy Time – Plan Accordingly!

For guests planning a visit to Universal Orlando Resort, staying informed about the operational status of rides and attractions is crucial to managing expectations and preventing disappointment. Universal Parks, including Universal Studios Florida, ensures your theme park admission is spent wisely on experiences of a lifetime.

Given the dynamic nature of maintenance schedules, staying abreast of the latest updates can be challenging. Therefore, we are compiling an up-to-date inventory of planned refurbishments scheduled for Universal Orlando Resort throughout March.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, located at Islands of Adventure, will shut down from April 27 through May 24.
Situated within Seuss Landing, this beloved flat ride ingeniously blends the charm of Dumbo The Flying Elephant with playful elements such as squirting fish. Accompanied by a whimsical song guiding guests on how to evade these aquatic surprises, this attraction offers a delightful and interactive experience for visitors of all ages.

Universal had previously announced the annual refurbishment schedule for Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges in December, indicating the customary timeframe beginning early in the year, from February 5 to March 8, 2024. Recently, official confirmation from the Universal Orlando Resort calendar has adjusted the closure dates for Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, now slated for closure from February 2 to March 15, 2024.

Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges offers an unparalleled river rapids experience, inviting riders to embark on a cartoon adventure alongside Popeye. As guests journey through the attraction, they encounter tangled octopuses, leaky pipes, and unexpected twists, adding an element of excitement and whimsy to the thrilling rapids ride.

It should be noted that several offerings and attractions are shut down for good, and others are closed for an indefinite time. As of the latest update, the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle remain marked as “temporarily closed” on the official Universal Orlando website.

Typically, on select evenings, the enchanting Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle illuminate the iconic backdrop with dazzling projections, celebrating the four houses through a captivating blend of lights and music. Presently, the schedule for this nighttime spectacle’s return remains uncertain. Rest assured, updates will be provided as soon as further details are announced, ensuring you stay informed of its availability.

Another Wizarding World of Harry Potter offering that has closed indefinitely is the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle show, located at Hogsmeade and projected onto Hogwarts Castle. DreamWorks Land is gearing up to open this summer, offering guests the chance to experience all-new attractions and experiences based on the lovable characters from the DreamWorks animated universe, including Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, and others. Universal CityWalk is gearing up for a new preview center for Epic Universe, which will take guests on a sneak peek adventure through the new theme park in the coming summer of 2025.
