There have been multiple reports regarding Jenna Ortega and her return to Netflix’s Wednesday. The show is reportedly set to begin filming in the spring of 2024 in Ireland, but there have been numerous rumors about what Wednesday Season 2 might look like. Actor Percy Hynes White has reportedly been written off the show following allegations of sexual assault. Though the actor has denied the claim, many believe that Netflix will still choose to move forward without him.
As far as Ortega is concerned, she still has some decisions to make as we get closer to the filming for the second season of the iconic series, which garnered nearly 6 billion streaming minutes in its first week available on Netflix. Just for reference, this was good enough for second all-time on the Nielsen rankings, only trailing Stranger Things Season 4 (7,203), which was also released in 2022.
Hailing from Coachella Valley, California, the journey to stardom for Jenna Marie Ortega began when she was just a child, and she has since become a notable figure in both television and film. Ortega’s breakthrough came with her role as Young Jane in the critically acclaimed TV series Jane the Virgin (2014-2019), where her performance garnered attention for its depth and maturity. In 2022, Jenna Ortega took on the challenging role of Tara Carpenter in the horror film Scream (2022), a continuation of the iconic franchise. This reimagining of the Addams Family universe follows Wednesday as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that terrorizes the local town, and navigate the challenges of being a teenager. Ortega’s take on the iconic character has been widely praised for bringing a modern and dynamic twist to Wednesday Addams while staying true to the character’s dark and mysterious roots.
However, there is now another project for Jenna Ortega that could prove to be a major breakthrough for her, and it will again involve Tim Burton.
Inside the Magic previously covered that Ortega is back in Massachusetts filming for Beetlejuice 2. She is set to play the role of Lydia’s daughter in the highly-anticipated sequel, which will star Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. There were rumors that Johnny Depp could return to play a role in Tim Burton’s movie, but that did not happen.
As filming picked back up this week, leaks from the set give fans a little glimpse into what they can expect from the new movie.

In addition to these leaks, filming beginning also officially confirms that Ortega will be ready to transform back into Wednesday Addams this spring as filming will have finished for the Warner Bros. project, and she’ll be fully focused on getting the Netflix series ready for fans to enjoy.
