Even at “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” bad things can happen. From fistfights in Magic Kingdom to actual criminal activity in parking lots, even Walt Disney World isn’t immune to the “real world.” However, Disney and its cast members work hard to ensure that the theme parks and resorts remain as magical as possible. Unfortunately, some things are out of our control, and tonight is a great example.

The Walt Disney World has closed its gates, well, the gates to a certain land inside the theme parks. Late Monday night, cast members could be seen closing down Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and its surrounding areas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The entire area is accessed via a giant gate, which has been closed.

A video of the incident was uploaded to X (Twitter) by DisneyWorldTom, which is linked below:

As shown in the video, a fire alarm caused a complete evacuation of the attraction as well as the closure of the area. We are unsure what prompted the fire alarm to go off, but the ride and area the ride resides in have been completely evacuated and blocked off. All guests were ushered out of the area, and considering how late this incident occurred, it’s more than likely we will not see Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While a fire is a possibility, it’s also possible that a guest or cast member accidentally (or purposefully) tripped one of the alarms in the ride’s show building. We’ve seen fires break out at Walt Disney World in the past, so we truly hope everything is under control and no one is injured as a result of whatever went wrong.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of the most intense rides at Walt Disney World and takes the top spot for many guests, especially adrenaline junkies. Guests will find a lot of great roller coasters at Walt Disney World, such as Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. However, none are as quick or as disorienting as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

Unfortunately, the ride has been the source of controversy due to a lawsuit filed against Aerosmith’s frontman, Steven Tyler, late last year. Rumors began swirling of a potential retheme, with fans speculating how long Aerosmith would be featured as part of the attraction’s story.

This ride is the first and only coaster to feature full inversions at the property, and while it only lasts about 40 seconds, it’s a fantastic experience that guests should not miss during their trip.
