Disney CEO Bob Iger has finally responded to his company pulling advertising from X (formerly Twitter) following antisemitic Tweets from its owner, Elon Musk. And it doesn’t look like the House of Mouse will return any time soon.

There are many things that people love about Disney. For some, it’s the theme parks. Whether you go to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or Disneyland Resort in California, everyone is bound to have a good time. Or maybe it’s the films with classics like Mary Poppins (1964), The Little Mermaid (1989), or Zootopia (2016).
However, one thing cannot be denied: Disney’s most significant strength is its advertising. No matter where you go, people know about the House of Mouse. Everyone has their favorite Disney characters or a favorite Disney movie. So, if you have a company, you’d want Disney to be a part of it. That’s why it was so devastating for Elon Musk to see the Walt Disney Company completely ditch X.
Elon Musk Drove Advertisers Away By Supporting Antisemitic Tweets

Elon Musk is one of the world’s most recognized and controversial figures. Incredibly outspoken, Musk stands among Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg as one of the wealthiest men in the world, owning and founding numerous companies, including SpaceX, Tesla Motors, and the social media platform X.
Musk recently came under fire for sharing and replying to anti-Semitic Tweets on X, specifically one that says Jewish people have a “hatred for whites.” Musk replied to this Tweet, saying, “You have said the actual truth.” And it seems that X is going to pay dearly for it.

In response to these Tweets, multiple companies have pulled advertising from the platform, especially after Media Matters showed images of racist advertisements next to their companies’ Tweets. These companies include IBM, Lionsgate, Warner Bros., and Disney.
This has resulted in Musk suing Media Matters for defamation against his company. As the list of companies boycotting X grows, people have been wondering when they might return to the social media giant. According to Bob Iger, you shouldn’t hold your breath.
Bob Iger Doesn’t See Disney Returning to Twitter Anytime Soon

While appearing at the DealBook Conference, Disney CEO Bob Iger addressed the company’s boycott of X. While he never fully condemned the Tesla Owner’s comments, Iger did explain why Disney pulled its advertising.
“I have a lot of respect for Elon and what he’s accomplished,” said Iger. “…And we know Elon is larger than life in many respects, and that his name is very much tied to the companies he either founded or he owns, whether it’s Tesla or SpaceX, or now X. And by him taking the position that he took in quite a public manner, we just felt that the association with that position and Elon Musk and X was not necessarily a positive one for us. And we decided we would pull our advertising,”

This prompted the interviewer to ask a follow-up question, wondering if Iger had put any thought into returning to X anytime soon. “I haven’t. I haven’t really addressed it since the decision was made.”
That means it will be even longer until we see Disney advertising again on the social media platform. While many people agree with this decision, one person is particularly unhappy: Elon Musk. In fact, he had a powerful message to all the companies who pulled ads from X: “Go f*** yourself.”
