Today in the world of bizarre Nicolas Cage sayings and thoughts, he admitted to the audience of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that his first memories are being in the womb. Colbert has a rapid-fire questionnaire that he engages in with his Guests called “The Colbert Questionert,” where he asks many random questions. Cage was asked what his earliest memory was, and he naturally answered by stating he remembers being “in utero.”

According to Cage, “Let me think. Listen, I know this sounds really far out and I don’t know if it’s real or not, but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in-utero and feel like I could see faces in the dark or something. I know that sounds powerfully abstract, but that somehow seems like maybe it happened.”
Colbert was naturally enthralled by his answer, as was everyone in the crowd. He responded by saying, “I buy it. I buy it. You’re Nic Cage; who am I to say you don’t remember being in utero.”
The Colbert Questionert was quite fascinating, as Cage revealed his favorite action movie, Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon and revealed he is deathly afraid of the centipede. He also revealed that he asked Pete Townsend, guitarist from The Who, for an autograph but never received it.

Nicolas Cage is currently starring in the action/comedy film Renfield and has been doing promotional work. Though the above interview is one of the last ones we might see for a while, at least Mr. Cage made it entertaining.
All late-night shows are going on indefinite hiatus. The WGA (Writers Guild of America) has officially gone on strike after negotiations between the writers in show business and the producers have fallen through. There has not been a strike since 2007-2008, when the writers held firm for 100 days. This naturally led to plenty of shows and movies being delayed.
There is no telling how long the new strike will last. Still, with the prevalence of social media, and people taking in many scripted shows via the staggering amount of streaming platforms, we imagine there will be support for the writers like never before.

While the late-night shows go on their hiatus, we would love to see re-runs of Nicolas Cage being interviewed, as his responses are always fascinating. We certainly don’t remember being in the womb, but we can’t say that Cage doesn’t.
