We previously reported the all-new trailer for The Little Mermaid (2023), a live-action remake of the animated classic, released at D23 last weekend.

However, convention-goers also got an exclusive, for-the-room-only look at Ariel (Halle Bailey) singing “Part of Your World.” Though meant to remain private, footage of that scene has leaked on TikTok:

@beardedbeauty_ shared the video from @corynation, who has since deleted his reaction. It is unknown who originally leaked the video, but it appears authentic.

As of September 15, @beardedbeauty_’s video appears to have been taken down. However, another version was uploaded to Twitter by @PagingDrPetty:

The Little Mermaid features a star-studded cast, directed by Rob Marshall, with original music by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken. Bailey is Ariel, Melissa McCarthy is Ursula the Sea Witch, Jonah Hauer-King is Prince Eric, Javier Bardem is King Triton, Daveed Diggs is Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay is Flounder, and Awkwafina is Scuttle the seagull.

Some critics oppose the film because the animated Ariel is white and Bailey is Black. However, the original Ariel, Jodi Benson, fully supports Bailey’s casting.
