Things at the Walt Disney World Resort seem to constantly be changing, evolving, and improving. Whether a world-famous attraction like Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain is getting a retheme or an older ride like Animal Kingdom’s DINOSAUR gets a much-needed refurbishment, Guests can always expect something new when visiting the four Parks. And speaking of refurbishments, one of Disney’s water parks will be closing very soon for the same reason.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park was just announced to be undergoing a refurbishment starting January 1, 2022. It is unknown how long this refurbishment will last as there is no end date listed on Disney World’s official calendar. Both of Disney World’s water parks tend to go under maintenance quite often but after the closure of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Guests may be wondering what all will be happening with this refurbishment.

There is a lot going on at the Disney Parks and just recently, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park was finally announced to be opening again on January 2, 2022, just a day after Blizzard Beach will close for refurbishment. Typhoon Lagoon had been closed for over a year with many Guests wondering when it would return and what was being changed.
