Disney Park Immediately Cancels New Year's Eve Due to COVID-19 Spread - Inside the Magic

If you were planning on attending Disneyland Paris’ New Year’s Eve party, you may have to plan for something else on that big night.

As Omicron worsens in France, more travel restrictions have been put into place in which Disneyland Paris must follow, which is restricting travel for leisure purposes. The Disneyland Paris website notes:

Following the latest announcements from the French government, beginning Saturday 18 December, regardless of vaccination status, those wishing to travel to France from the UK will need to meet criteria outlined by the French authorities that the travel is essential. Currently leisure travel does not meet such criteria. If in France, in line with French authorities’ requirements, a Health Pass is required for any guests aged above 12 years and 2 months in order to visit the Disney Parks, the Disney Hotels and Disney Village. This is a change that was implemented just a few days ago on December 17, and is already effecting Park operations.

Disneyland Paris’ refund page notes that the party has been canceled.

Given the current situation and the health measures taken for 31 December throughout France, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Disney New Year’s Eve Party. ​

Already have a Hotel + Ticket package or a room only booking that includes the night of 31 December 2021 and a Disney New Year’s Eve Party ticket ?​
If you decide to keep your booking, your Disney New Year’s Eve Party ticket will be cancelled and refunded.​

If you wish to cancel your entire booking, you can change or cancel your booking without fees and receive a full refund up to 7 days before your arrival, excluding insurance and/or transport fees, if applicable.​

Have a Disney New Year’s Eve Party ticket only?​
Tickets for the Disney New Year’s Eve Party purchased on the Disneyland Paris website or by telephone will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.​

If you bought your Disney New Year’s Eve Party ticket at the Park Entrance, we invite you to contact us to claim your refund.​

If you bought your Ticket from a third party, please contact them directly.​

Booked a New Year’s Eve Dinner including a Disney New Year’s Eve Party Ticket?​
You can keep your Festive Dinner booking with us and access the Disney Parks during the evening. You will be offered gift cards as a compensation for the Disney New Year’s Eve Party being cancelled (€100 per adult and €50 per child)​

Alternatively, you can cancel your entire booking and request a full refund.​

In both cases, our holiday experts will contact you shortly to make the necessary arrangements.

At the moment, Disneyland Paris is continuing operations and remaining open as typically planned. There have been rumbling rumors that a potential closure of the Park is impending, however, that has not been confirmed by Disney at all.

If you still plan to travel to Disneyland Paris in the near future, be aware that face masks are required!

Wearing a mask for children: from 6 years old!
The wearing of an appropriate face covering remains mandatory for all our guests ages 6 and over. Guests will be required to wear a face covering at all times of the day in all areas of the resort (Disney Parks, Disney Hotels, Disney Village and Golf Disneyland). They will be able to temporarily remove their face coverings during meals and to take a picture, at the outdoor Selfie with our characters.

All Cast Members and outside contractors will continue to wear a compliant face covering in all indoor and outdoor areas of the destination.

At Disneyland Paris, lots of changes are coming to Walt Disney Studios and their Disneyland Park, with the 30th anniversary just months away. Walt Disney Studios is adding a massive addition that will include Star Wars, Marvel, and Frozen, as well as their very own Avengers Campus, which will be the first section to open in the Park.
