Although the spooky season is coming to a close, many Halloween fans are always looking for more information on the secondĀ Hocus Pocus film, considering how much of a hit and cult classic the first one is within not only the Disney community but society as a whole! Some may even say that the Sanderson sisters put a spell on us, and now weāre theirs! Now, on Halloween, Disney has dropped a major announcement about the film.

When Disney announced thatĀ Hocus Pocus 2Ā would be returning,Ā it was under the impression that Adam Shankman (Hairspray) would lead the way as a director. Since then, we have heard that theĀ Untitled C / W ProjectĀ (listed asĀ Shankmanās most recent IMDB project) had Bette Midler (Winifred), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah), and Kathy Najimy (Mary) attached,Ā all three actors loved the script, and that location scouting had begun. Although that does not mean filming is underway just yet, it was all positive news and major steps forward. Since then, Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) has taken over the directing reigns.
Aside from knowing that the original Sanderson sisters would return, we have been wondering who else would be involved in the sequel and if we would be seeing fresh faces. Now, Disney+ took to Facebook to share the news of the all-new cast that will be joining the film.
The black flame candle is alight to the Sanderson sistersā delight. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy shall soon return. Joined by new faces which you soon will learn. As the post noted, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Doug Jones, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen will all be joining the film. With so many new faces, it seems that the storyline may diverge from the first film’s.
As we have previously discussed,Ā The Illuminerdi reported that the movie would follow a high school-aged girl named Becca. Becca is a loner who does not have many friends and a stepmother she really dislikes.
Becca is an aspiring witch who manages to get her hands on a new dark flame candle at the townās magic shop located in the Sanderson Sisters old cottage.
Along with classmate, āIzzyā a confident oddball, Becca mistakenly summons the Sanderson Sisters on Halloween night leading to chaos in the town as the girls race to find a way to stop the witches who still seek youth and immortality.

And it looks like the sisters will not only come across Becca and Izzy, but āGilesā the owner of the magic shop in their former home, āSamā a classmate of the girls and magician who works at Gilesā magic shoppe who also has a crush on Becca, and Beccaās kind and cheerful stepmother āLuannā who is an outsider in her own right.
