Credit: DisneyOn October 1, Walt Disney World Resort will begin celebrating its 50th anniversary — The World’s Most Magical Celebration — and a ton of new experiences will be coming to the theme parks. One of those experiences will be a new nighttime spectacular that will take place at EPCOT: Harmonious. Harmonious was originally scheduled to premiere on October 1, but it looks like Disney is surprising Guests and debuting it early!
While Guests visiting the Walt Disney World website will still see the announcement that Harmonious will open on October 1, the Park’s calendar reveals that there are showtimes beginning September 29. Harmonious is listed as beginning at 9 p.m. on both September 29 and September 30.
Disney announced that the Harmonious would be shown on September 29, and people who aren’t at EPCOT will be able to watch it via live stream through Disney Parks Blog. A showing of Disney Enchantment will then be live-streamed on September 30 to officially kick off the 50th anniversary celebration, and then that show will be shown to Guests in the Park starting October 1, the next day.
Then, on October 1, Disney will show The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World on ABC so fans who are not in the Parks can be a part of the celebration.
The Disney World website describes Harmonious as a “beautifully crafted medley” that will leave Guests “dazzled”:
This magnificent new show brings to World Showcase Lagoon an innovative combination of floating giant screens, choreographed for moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers in a 360-degree view. Enter amazing worlds inspired by Moana, Aladdin, Coco, Brave, The Lion King, Mulan, The Princess and the Frog and other classic stories. Colorful images and effects dance and change as Harmonious weaves familiar Disney music and stories together in brand-new ways. Through unique perspectives as diverse as the world itself, Disney songs hop from language to language as the show brings people from different parts of the world together to unlock the magic of possibility.
Harmonious is sure to be a popular show since it will only run for a limited time, so if you plan to be in EPCOT on either September 29 or September 30, be sure to get your spot to watch the show one or two days early before its official premiere date of October 1!
