Spooky season is now in full swing at The Happiest Place on Earth! While fall technically doesn’t begin for another few weeks, Disneyland Resort begins celebrating Halloween Time on September 3 — and there is so much to see, do, eat, and experience all throughout the theme parks.
We’re huge fans of the Disneyland Halloween season, so of course we have to share all of our top recommendations with you!
We have already shared a complete guide to Halloween Time 2021 at Disneyland, but in this article, we are sharing our absolute must-dos for your upcoming visit this Halloween season. Disney recently invited us out to experience the first official day of Halloween Time, and we are excited to tell you all of our recommendations. Continue reading for our top tips about what you should prioritize on your next trip to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure!
Iconic Photo Opportunities
PhotoPass is truly a game-changer! PhotoPass photographers are located throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure and can elevate your photo experience at the Parks. Even if you don’t want to pay for PhotoPass photos, you can still get amazing pictures on your mobile phone at the great photo spots (most of which are where a PhotoPass photographer is stationed).
But above all, you can’t miss grabbing that iconic photo in front of the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A.
It’s true — if you are heading to Disneyland anytime soon (or anytime at all), you simply must prioritize the food. Over the years, Disneyland Resort has become a foodie destination, serving up delicious dishes across a variety of dining locations at the theme parks. The Resort often offers some unique food items during this time of year, and this fall season is no different!
We highly recommend taking a look at all of the seasonal food and beverage offerings at the Disneyland Resort before your visit. But just to get you started, here are my top three favorite food items that I personally tried when visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Halloween Grey Stuff from Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland (Disneyland)
Spicy Corn Dog from Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland (Disneyland)
Cozy Cone Macaron from Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land (Disney California Adventure)
Plaza de la Familia
If you are taking a trip to Disneyland Resort this fall, you should plan to visit Plaza de la Familia in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure. Plaza de la Familia is open now through November 2 and offers Guests the opportunity to celebrate, learn about, and appreciate Dia de Los Muertos and the world of Coco.
You can participate in activities, listen to award-winning musical artists (like the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas!), feast on some delicious and authentic dishes, and even meet Michel himself. Trust me when I say that this is a can’t-miss experience and an area of the Park that you will be returning to all season long.
Dapper Dans & Disney Characters
The Dapper Dans are finally back at The Happiest Place on Earth! You can catch them on Main Street, U.S.A. throughout the day, singing Halloween tunes. Check out the Disneyland app for more information
Of course, a visit to Disneyland is not complete without seeing the characters — and this fall, you won’t want to miss seeing all of your favorite characters dressed in their seasonal best. You can catch favorite friends like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in their Halloween costumes (both on Main Street at Disneyland and on Buena Vista Street), and you can even see some other fun characters like the Cheshire Cat, Jack Skellington and Sally, The Queen of Hearts, Jafar, and more!
Something that makes Disney so great is that characters are truly everywhere you look. Keep your eyes peeled throughout the day as you never know who you might find.
