Dwayne Johnson Loses "Highest Paid Actor" Status to Another Hollywood Superstar - Inside the Magic

When it comes to some of the paychecks actors and actresses receive, many of us may be potentially floored by the amount.

Although not every person will understand why actors can make millions off of films, we must remember that their notoriety, popularity, and talent often bring in audiences to see the film, making them valuable and essential assets to the production’s overall financial success. This gives many actors and their agents a lot of leverage when it comes to negotiating their contracts.

Disney has, of course, worked with many extremely successful and talented actors, but it seems that their most successful actor on a financial level is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The famed WWE wrestler has been seen in multiple Disney films, from the voice of Maui in Moana to Skipper Frank in Disney’s Jungle Crusie — but it is not Disney who shelled out the big bucks to give Dwayne a fighting shot at the title for the highest-paid actor.

Reportedly, it seems that Amazon will be paying Johnson $50 million once all is said and done with Red One.

Next up is Dwayne Johnson, who is projected to bring in $50 million thanks to Amazon Studios’ Red One, per Variety’s report. While his initial deal is for $30 million, the outlet says it could balloon up with back-end sums accounted for.

But even at $50 million, Johnson is trailing far behind the top paid actor, which is Daniel Craig! Now that Netflix has picked up Knives Out 2 and 3, the actor will be receiving a whopping paycheck of $100 million for the franchise deal.

We do not see a woman on the list until slot 7 with Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts tied at $25 million. In spot number 8, Sandra Bullock is listed at $20 million; however, we know from the ongoing lawsuit that Disney paid Scarlett Johansson the same for Black Widow, but she may not have qualified as a new release for the list.
