Back in March, we reported that the Main Street Confectionery would be closing for a lengthy refurbishment. Now, three months later, it is clear that Imagineers are working hard on this construction project as the walls are still up and around the Confectionary.

Our Inside the Magic team is at Magic Kingdom for the first night of Happily Ever After tonight and we stopped by to see how construction is coming along on the Main Street Confectionery.

As you can see in the photos above, construction walls are still up and around the building as this project is ongoing.

Guests love stopping into the Main Street Confectionery and grabbing some sweet treats such as Mickey krispie treats, candy apples, chocolate-covered pineapple skewers, cake pops, taffy, and more, but for the time being, Guests can stop by the Main Street Cinema for sweets and treats as the Main Street Confectionery continues cooking up something new.

In case you aren’t familiar, the Main Street Confectionery is described on the Walt Disney World website as:

Follow your nose inside this old-fashioned candy shop, where delightful treats including character-inspired candy apples and Mickey krispie treats are made.

Walt Disney World recently stated that the Confectionary’s refurbishment is part of gearing up for the 50th anniversary celebration, which kicks off on October 1. Inside the Magic will keep you updated as we get information regarding the Main Street Confectionery.
