It seems like it has been forever since Guests were last able to bite into a deliciously hot and juicy hot dog from Casey’s Corner in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park. The theme park staple has been closed since Disney World reopened to Guests last summer. However, it seems that we may be inching closer to an opening date.
On June 23, Inside the Magic reported that Casey’s Corner had received a menu update, signifying that an opening date may be coming soon, though Disney hasn’t yet shared when the restaurant will reopen. The restaurant will no longer serve its bacon mac and cheese hot dog or bacon mac and cheese fries, but the incredibly popular corn dog nuggets will remain on the menu.
Now, more changes are happening on the inside of Casey’s Corner, so an opening date could be just around the corner! Guests at Magic Kingdom can catch glimpses of the reopening prep that seems to be happening at Casey’s Corner. Inside the Magic’s Alessa D. was visiting the theme park today and snapped these photos of the inside of the restaurant. Take a look below!
As you can see, stanchions are in the corner, which may potentially be used to control queues when the restaurant opens. Tables have also been put back inside the restaurant. The inside of Casey’s Corner had been empty, with no tables, before this.
Casey’s Corner opened at the Magic Kingdom in 1995 — after a retheme from Refreshment Corner to the famous Casey At The Bat poem — and has been a popular spot for Guests to grab and quick and tasty bite to eat during their day at the Magic Kingdom.
At this time, Casey’s Corner does not have an opening date. However, fireworks have been scheduled to return to the Magic Kingdom on July 1 — which could be a perfect time to reopen the restaurant.
