Credit: ITMWhen planning a vacation to Walt Disney World, there are many moving gears that every Guest must look at when organizing their vacation — including transportation.
Although planning what day you want to visit the Magic Kingdom is important, knowing how you will get to each theme park is equally important. Depending on which hotel you pick, new modes of transportation can be available to you. For example, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort all have monorail transportation to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (once the monorail line becomes available to Guests once again).
Disney busses are, of course, always available at every resort; however, the newest model of transit is the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner travels to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the following resorts:
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (this is the central Skyliner hub)
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
Using the Skyliner, Guests can save a lot of time, as the system is constantly moving and can travel even faster to your desired theme park than a Disney bus. That being said, the Skyliner can go down for refurbishment, and when it closes, that can really affect a Disney vacation if the closure was not yet accounted for.
So, to be sure you avoid that situation, please take note that from January 23 through January 28, 2022, Disney’s Skyliner will be undergoing a refurbishment. Disney told Inside the Magic that:
From Sunday, Jan. 23 through Thursday, Jan. 28, 2022, the Disney Skyliner line between EPCOT International Gateway, Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be closed.
However, busses will be available during the closure period, so Guests staying at any of the Skyliner resorts should not panic, as they will still be able to get to the parks for a magical day!
