Credit: Marvel StudiosOne of the reasons that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier seems to be taking the internet by storm is the chemistry between the two stars — Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/ Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/ Falcon). The bromance began back in Captain America: Civil War when Wilson refused to move his seat up for Barnes and Marvel fans have been obsessed ever since.
Marvel leaned into this during the promotional period leading up to the new Disney+ original series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, when Mackie “hacked” Stan’s Instagram account for a day. And, in many interviews, the two Marvel Avenger actors have not been shy joking about their off-screen friendship.
In a recent interview with Kelly Clarkson, Mackie was asked what Stan’s biggest flaw was, and he said:
That he’s always isolated. I want him all to myself, all the time, and he won’t let me have him. I just want to go out and do stuff together. I want to go to restaurants together. I want to go fishing together. I want us to be, you know, besties that hang out. And he won’t hang out with me because he’s so into himself.
In that same interview, Stan expressed his desire to sing ABBA Karaoke with Mackie. Suffice to say that Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie really enjoyed coming together to create The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The latest TV series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows the two Avengers on a global adventure to take down Karli Morgenthau (Erin Kellyman) and her group of Flag Smashers. The dynamic duo also tries to beat the New Captain America, John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and his sidekick Lemar Hoskins/Battlestar (Clé Bennett) – RIP, to the Flag Smashers to prevent the situation from getting out of hand.

With Marvel’s Phase 4 packed with new movies and series, it is hard to say when Falcon or the Winter Soldier will show up again. And, clearly, Sebastian Stan does not want to wait around for Marvel boss Kevin Feige to reunite him with his new best friend, so he’s coming up with his own ideas for what he and Anthony Mackie can do.
When talking to Kelly Clarkson, Sebastian Stan came up with the perfect idea for a new show where he and Anthony Mackie travel around Europe and review food:
I mean look, I want to pitch Anthony and I doing what Stanley Tucci is doing on CNN right now through Italy. I feel like he and I should go through Europe visiting restaurants and giving back feedback. I feel like that could be something we could do.
That sounds amazing, Sebastian! Disney, you need to get on this project right away — the fans are demanding it.
