Who’s counting down the grand reopening of Disneyland Park? In less than two weeks, one of Southern California’s beloved theme parks will finally reopen after a year-long closure. Disneyland Resort has been an important staple of many family’s lives and has become a second home to many California residents. With that being said, if you’re one of those Guests who have been dreaming of classic Disneyland attractions and specialty treats, we suggest you plan soon as reservations are booking up quickly at Disneyland Park.
Is May still available?
Keep in mind that visiting a Disney Park is not as easy as it used to be. As our world has had to adjust to the ongoing pandemic, Disney has made some important changes to keep Guests safe and adjust the limited capacity of the Disneyland Resort theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The new system includes a Theme Park Reservation Calendar.
Now, before buying a ticket, be sure to check the dates and theme park availability first and foremost. As of now, Disneyland Park itself has been the more popular choice when it comes to reservations, so theme park reservations for the original Magic Kingdom have continued to be booked. At this time, only five dates are available for reservations for Disneyland Park if you are a one-park-per-day Guest.
- May 6
- May 7
- May 11
- May 12
- May 13
Park Hopper ticket Guests have a bit more wiggle room when it comes to planning their next Disneyland Park visit. The official Disneyland website states,
Guests with a Park Hopper ticket will select the first theme park they wish to visit to begin their day; then they can visit the other park later that day after 1:00 PM.
For the month of May, Park Hopper ticket holders still have quite a few Disneyland Park dates to choose from.
- May 5
- May 6
- May 10-13
- May 20
- May 24-28
- May 31
More on Theme Park Reservations
If you still haven’t made a reservation, you can do so in the entire month of May (with the exception of May 1) to visit California Adventure Park if you are a one-park-per-day or Park Hopper ticket holder. The Disneyland Resort Theme Park Reservation Calendar for June also shows dates available for visiting Disneyland and DCA (with DCA reservations being full for Avengers Campus opening day, and weekend dates also filling up for both parks).
Keep in mind, Disney recommends that once Guests purchase theme park tickets, it is best to choose your dates through the website or via the Disneyland app immediately. The availability will change quickly over time so be sure to check the Disneyland official website for more information.
Be sure to note that along with these ticket and reservation changes will come many changes inside the Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks as well, such as dining, menus, and which attractions will be available upon reopening. We at Inside the Magic will keep you updated as the parks fully reopen to Guests and hope that this year will bring much joy and many more visits to the parks.
