As Disneyland has continued to share more information about the refurbishment of attractions like Haunted Mansion and Snow White’s Enchanted Wish (previously Snow White’s Scary Adventure), many Guests are anticipating the opening of the parks this month — especially since these attractions will reopen with the parks. Another classic and loved attraction in Disneyland just received a huge makeover.
King Arthur Carrousel is one of Disneyland’s most treasured rides — and it just received a long-awaited refurbishment to make it shimmer and shine like new!
One of Walt’s cherished stories is watching his children admire and ride the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round in Los Angeles, and it was on a park bench where Walt was inspired to build Disneyland Park.
Disney Parks Blog states,
Beloved since Disneyland park’s opening day in 1955, King Arthur Carrousel is the whirling center of Fantasyland, a regal throwback to the days of knights jousting and ladies fair. While we have been preparing for the reopening of Disneyland Resort’s theme parks, Walt Disney Imagineering recently completed an extensive refurbishment of this fan-favorite attraction. When we open our park gates on April 30, you’ll be delighted to discover a brightened version of the carrousel, sparkling with 14k gold leaf accents, vibrant details and bold colors.

Additionally, the official Disney Parks TikTok @Disneyparks also shared an informative video of the adorned King Arthur Carrousel, showing off over 60 gorgeous horses, hand painted with touches of gold leaves, and the canopy completely repainted.
