As we enter another long weekend that celebrates both Good Friday and Easter, many Guests may be traveling to Central Florida and using the holiday to have an extra-long Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Long weekends do typically bring in quite the crowd at Disney because it is an easy way for Guests to extend their vacation.
By the time Orlando makes it to April, typically, many Guests can enjoy the blistering heat that Florida is known to provide. That being said, this weekend is going to be a little different. Although Orlando just recently was hitting temperatures above 90 degrees, those heat-filled days are taking a slight pause this weekend as we enter a cold front — it seems like Elsa may be close by!
“Starting Friday, the high is expected to climb no higher than 64 degrees with the low forecast at 49 Friday night. As for the skies, forecasters predict a sunny but blistering, windy day.”

Winds are also expected to be quite gusty and may make those pool days a little extra chilly traveling between 20 to 25 mph, and at times, reaching 35 mph. Because of these temperatures, as we have previously reported, Disney’s water park, Blizzard Beach, will actually remain closed today! As a reminder, Typhoon Lagoon currently remains closed.

So, if you are heading to Disney World in the next couple of days and you have a Disney Park Pass reservation to either Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we would recommend you pack a sweater and possible some extra pants in your bag!
I have seen it time and time again where all of the shops on Main St. U.S.A. add in extra racks with sweaters and jackets on cold nights so that Guests can purchase them to stay warm. Although it would be a nice souvenir, forgetting a sweater could either cold you a teeth-chattering evening, or a hefty $70.00 for a spirit jersey!

That being said, lower temperatures are perfect for a Walt Disney World Resort park day. As long as you are dressed accordingly, waiting in a line without sweat rolling down your face towards your mask is always a plus in my books. Plus, with summer on its way, these are temperatures Guests should take advantage of before the heat becomes a little more unbearable.
Are you planning on visiting Disney World this weekend? Do you mind the cooler temperatures when you are in the parks?
