Disney’s Blizzard Beach is typically open for most of the year, aside from if cooler weather hits Florida. If so, the water park will close for the day so that families remain safe. And that is exactly what looks like will happen one day this week.
The backstory of Blizzard Beach is that a one-time ski resort melted away into a watery wonderland — now, it is known as Blizzard Beach! You and your family can discover frosty fun while visiting this ice-filled water park located at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Blizzard Beach is filled with one-of-a-kind and unique attractions, fun for all ages. From the relaxing lazy river — Cross Country Creek — to the iconic Summit Plummet, there are a wide variety of experiences for everyone.
Blizzard Beach recently reopened for the first time since temporarily closing due to the ongoing pandemic, but it looks like it will once again shut its gates for one day this week — this time due to weather.
For those of you who are planning on visiting Disney World this weekend, it is important to note that Blizzard Beach looks like it will close on Friday, April 2.

At the time of publication, the Walt Disney World website does not have hours listed for Blizzard Beach for April 2, however, there are hours posted for the rest of the week, which are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is more than likely due to the fact that Florida is expecting some cooler weather on Friday, April 2 and so many people will not be visiting a water park. At the time of publication, the weather for Lake Buena Vista, Florida for Friday is a high of 65° with some winds at 15 to 25 mph.
If you are planning a visit to Blizzard Beach soon, be sure to check the official Disney World website for the most up-to-date park hours.
Additionally, Disney World’s second water park — Typhoon Lagoon — remains closed until further notice. Inside the Magic will keep you updated as we get information surrounding Typhoon Lagoon and its reopening.
