Blizzard Beach will be the first Walt Disney World water park to reopen to Guests after the multimonth closure in 2020. While its rival Universal Orlando Resort opted to reopen its water park, Volcano Bay, when it reopened its theme parks back in Summer 2020, Walt Disney World chose to keep Blizzard Beach and its sister water park, Typhoon Lagoon, closed for the remainder of the 2020 season.

At this time, there is still no reopening date set for Typhoon Lagoon.

Park Hopper Plus Option Returns, But Day Tickets Do Not!

In preparation for the reopening of Blizzard Beach, Walt Disney World has already brought back the Park Hopper Plus Option, but there is a catch. You can add the Park Hopper Plus option to your new 2021 Walt Disney World ticket right now, however, if you simply want to purchase a water park ticket, you are going to have to wait.

Disney states, “At this time, Guests can purchase new tickets that include the Park Hopper Plus Option or Water Park & Sports Option for admission March 7, 2021, and later. We will resume sales of Water Parks Annual Passes and 1-Day Water Park Tickets at a later date.”

Disney World Guest Services confirmed the news with Inside the Magic by saying:

At this time if you would like to purchase admission to the Theme Parks as well as Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park for March 7, 2021 or after, your option will be to purchase the Theme Park tickets listed above.

If you would like to purchase a Water Park Annual Pass or just the Water Park ticket, it will be necessary to wait until those admission types go back on sale.

For those Guests who still have an unused Water Park Ticket and Annual Passes, however, you’re in luck!

We will automatically extend unused, unexpired 1-Day Disney Water Park tickets that were active at the time the Water Parks were closed through December 31, 2021. Not all unused, unexpired 1-Day Disney Water Park tickets have been extended yet, but such extensions should be completed by March 7, 2021…Water Parks and Water Parks After 2 Annual Passes active at the time the Water Parks were closed will be automatically extended for the period both Water Parks were closed. Not all Water Park Annual Passes have been extended yet, but such extensions should be completed by March 7, 2021.
