If you are a fan of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, we have some great news for you!

For the past few months, The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation was undergoing a refurbishment where the entire pool had to be drained, meaning that it was not available to Guests for a quick dip. The Big Blue Pool is a large swimming hole on Disney World property and serves as the main pool at the Value Resort.

It is themed to Finding Nemo, as are the rooms that surround the pool, and Guests visiting can see all the characters from the Pixar film such as Crush, Nemo, Dory, and more through larger-than-life statues that surround the area.

Another incredible aspect about this pool that makes it truly unique is the fact that when Guests are swimming underwater, you can hear music and sounds, much like any of the fish in Finding Nemo would. It really immerses all Guests into the ocean.

The pool, which closed on January 11 was predicted to stay closed through to early April. And now here we are, in early April at the very start of the month and the Disney World website no longer shows the pool as closed! This is great news for all Guests arriving in the next few days, as the pool is a huge draw for both adults and kids alike.

When The Big Blue Pool was closed, Guests had the option to visit the Cars-themed Cozy Cone Pool or The Little Mermaid-themed Flippin’ Fins Pool at Art of Animation, but now Guests can visit any of the three.

If you want to know more about The Big Blue Pool, here is the official description:

For the little ones, Schoolyard Sprayground is home to pop-up jets, gushing water and more familiar faces from Finding Nemo, while Squirt’s Righteous Reef is a Nemo-themed playground perfect for kids who prefer to stay dry during playtime

It seems the refurbishment was mostly for maintenance and upkeep, so Guests should expect a similar experience to what they have seen before upon arrival.
