A new construction permit reveals that an upcoming construction project is planned for the Little Mermaid building at the Art of Animation Resort.
You can view the construction permit in its entirety here.
The purpose of the construction is listed as general construction, and the contractor is Calic Group INC.
The Art of Animation Resort is currently closed. However, it is scheduled to reopen November 1st of this year.
This permit comes after the resorts pool area, “The Big Blue Pool”, also had a construction scheduled. That permit was also for general construction.
While there is no way to know what the construction could be for without official confirmation from Disney, it seems like they are taking the time to make necessary improvements and refurbishments while the resort is closed.
Disney describes the Art of Animation Resort as:
Be surrounded in the artistry, enchantment and magic of Walt Disney and Disney and Pixar movies. Stay at a Disney Resort hotel that invites you to explore the storybook landscapes seen in such classics as Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. From delightfully themed family suites to wondrously detailed courtyards, Disney’s Art of Animation “draws” you and your family in to become a part of some of your animated favorites.
We love all of the unique features this resort offers, we cannot wait to see what improvements have been made once the hotel opens once again.
