If there is a resort that almost all Disney fans and Guests know is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment, it is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Of course, there are other refurbishments going on on the Walt Disney World Resort property such as the rooms refurbishments being done at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but with the Polynesian inserting an entire IP, it has been very interesting and fun to track the resorts construction progress to see how all of the new Moana based storyline and characters will be implemented into the deluxe resort.

One of the main reasons that Disney’s Polynesian Resort is so popular is due to the fact that it sits on the monorail line. This means that it is a short ride away from Magic Kingdom, which is a perk that many Disney Guests love to have! Right now, the monorail station is also undergoing a massive update, with the entire loading dock being redone from the ground up.

Thanks to Bioreconstruct (@Bioreconstruct) we can check out the latest updates on the Polynesian monorail line!

In this first photo, we can see that although the structural aspect of the monorail line is still functioning as planned, that the platform has barely taken shape around it.

Now, we can see what the platform looks like from a better level. Clearly, the platform is nowhere near ready for Guests considering that the parking lot is a demolition zone, and the platform is just a slab of concrete at the moment.

In this next shot, we can see how the newly placed platform will connect both the resort and express monorail stations.

All of this being said, it does seem that the renovations at Disney’s Polynesian Resort are on track. Disney recently revealed what the Moana-themed rooms will look like, and we know that the Lava Pool is also undergoing changes to be more themed to the Disney Princess, as well as the Great Ceremonial House. Plus, although the monorail platform has a long way to go, refurbishments are expected to conclude in summer 2021, so there is definitely time.
