Now that we have officially started the countdown to Disneyland’s reopening, it is exciting to see the park slowly come back to life!

One thing that Disneyland is known for is its perfect greenery and landscaping, including the classic Mickey Mouse flower bed that greets Guests at the train station as they enter the park. After a full year of closure, of course, Disney has had to do some sprucing up to the entrance of the park.
Most recently, Disney took to their social channels to showcase what it looked like to get the Mickey Mouse floral looking nice and fresh. Below, you can check out the TikTok that begins with a stunning new flower bed ready for a spring opening, then, the video takes Guests through the process of planting the specific flower or plant in which area to create everyone’s favorite mouse.
On the Disneyland Cast and Community (@disneylandcastandcommunity) Instagram, the same video was posted with a caption that better explains what work was being done.
“As seen on Disney Parks TikTok, check out this video of our amazing Horticulture cast members planting flowers in the iconic Mickey flower bed, right inside the gates of Disneyland park! ? ? These cast members are helping to get the parks ready to reopen on April 30, along with 10,000 more cast members from all over the resort who are returning to work in the next few weeks.”

At one point during the extended temporary closure, the Mickey florals weren’t looking their best. If we take a look at the photo below, it seems quite clear that the flower bed needed a little TLC at this California theme park.
But later on, it became clear that Disney gave them a spruce up! Now it seems they are doing so again so that everything looks fresh and photo-ready for the big day.

Considering so many Guests, Legacy Passholders, and Cast Members have been waiting for this reopening for quite some time, it is exciting to actually see all of the prep go into the park to ensure Disneyland is just as magical as we remembered.
As we mentioned, Disneyland Resort will open to California residents on April 30 thanks to California Governor Gavin Newsom updating the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. At the moment, there will be a 15% capacity limit, but if Orange County’s COVID-19 cases continue their decline, there is a chance the county will reach the orange tier before opening, which would allow them to open to 25% capacity.
For now, Guests are enjoying A Touch of Disney being held on select dates at Disney California Adventure, as well as the Downtown Disney District.
