New Disney Springs Signage Strongly Enforces Mask Wear

in Walt Disney World

If you have visited Disney World during the ongoing pandemic, you likely know that the theme parks and hotels are very strict when it comes to Guest safety. From social distancing to proper mask wear, Cast Members are always patrolling the Disney grounds and making sure that all who are on property are following the rules.

Whether you are at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney Springs, Guests must always keep a proper face mask on covering their nose and mouth unless actively eating or drinking while stationary. Signage is scattered throughout the property to ensure that Guests are constantly being reminded by the rules and announcements play over the loudspeakers sporadically throughout the day to ensure Guests are aware of these protocols.

It’s important to note that while visiting Disney World, not all masks are acceptable and approved, and Disney has made sure to visually communicate that to their Guests. Most recently, Disney World installed new signs at the shopping and dining location, Disney Springs, to reiterate this information to those visiting.

Tharin White (@TharinWhite) took to Twitter to post new signage that can be seen at Disney Springs.

New signage being explicit about what masks are not allowed at #DisneySprings.

In the giant banner that Guests can see clearly when lining up and passing through the Disney Springs queue, Disney has listed all of the masks that are not permitted on property. As you can see, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, face coverings with valves, or face coverings with mesh are four versions of masks that Disney will not permit Guests to wear.

The news that these masks are not allowed on Disney property is not new and has always been in place, but it seems Disney felt the need to reiterate this information to Guests in a visual representation.

At the moment, it seems that this new signage has only been found at Disney Springs, although the rules for what masks are allowed are listed on the official Walt Disney World website.

The official Disney World face mask policy reads:

At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.

Most recently at Disney Springs, a Guest was arrested for skipping past the temperature check and refusing to leave the shopping and eatery area. It is clear that Disney Springs is continuing to strongly enforce their safety rules and regulations. To read more on that story, click here.
