2020 is over and it’s time to look towards the future! Universal Orlando Resort has been preparing to have an exciting year in 2021, so here are all of the new exciting things you can look forward to on your next Universal vacation!
There is already so much to do at Universal Orlando Resort, but as theme park fans we are always looking for new and exciting offerings at the parks. Thankfully, Universal is not going to disappoint this year as the highly anticipated VelociCoaster is set to open in 2021!
This brand new attraction is coming to Universal’s Islands of Adventure and is currently creating a stunning skyline for the park. While it will be in the Jurassic Park area of IOA, the coaster is actually themed to the Jurassic World IP.
Recently, Universal unleashed a behind the scenes look at the trains that will run on the VelociCoaster. They look absolutely incredible, and we cannot wait to experience this thrill ride when it opens later in 2021. You can take a look at those photos and read more details here!
Universal Orlando is also making some changes to CityWalk. UO has not officially stated what all of the ongoing construction will lead to — but fans have been speculating that they are building a new location for the Universal Store. Again, that is not confirmed, but either way, it is clear something new is coming to CityWalk! That being said, if they change the location of the Universal Store something will have to replace the original retail spot.
You can see construction photos here and read more details. Stay tuned to Inside the Magic for the latest updates about all Universal projects as they happen!
2021 is also bringing BIG savings to Universal Orlando! Are you a Florida Resident? Universal Orlando is giving Florida Residents 3 months FREE with the purchase of a 12-month annual pass. 15 months for the price of 12? So worth it! This means you could ride the VelociCoaster as much as your thrill-seeking heart desires.
Additionally, we are waiting on details for this year’s Mardi Gras event. Although it is likely the event will be modified just as Halloween Horror Nights and Christmas were — we hope Mardi Gras will still be as big and beautiful as ever! Perhaps Universal will turn the floats into a walkthrough experience as they previously did for Christmas? And could we see Mardi Gras get a special tribute store? We can’t wait to get the official details from Universal on Mardi Gras 2021!
