The Downtown Disney District has now be reopened since July and have even extended into Disney California Adventure Park. The area has done a really good job of keeping up with health and safety protocol to remain open and keep their Guests and Cast Members safe.
Now, the Downtown Disney District and newly reopened Buena Vista Street will be extending their hours during the holiday season and right up until New Years Eve. The Disneyland Resort areas that are currently open will be operating from 9am to 9pm daily. However, this had us wondering, since the resort’s hours are extending, shouldn’t they be offering more for Guests to enjoy during those hours?
Recently, Disney California Adventure Park announced that they will be reopening one more store to their Buena Vista Street reopening, Off the Page. And with a new entrance available to see a peek inside Avengers Campus, perhaps the park can extend their reopening to The Collector’s Warehouse that is connected to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction (or other shops in the new land). There could be plenty more opportunities for shops throughout the park to reopen, if they stick to complying with health and safety mandates.
Inside Disney California Adventure, many fans are wondering whether the park could offer safe and social distanced character meet-and-greets. We’ve seen great success with this at Walt Disney World and even at resorts like Disney’s Aulani with their creative and unique new character experiences. Walt Disney World Guests have even been able to see characters in their holiday garb! Disney could have no problem doing this! We know plenty of Disney fans that would love to see their favorites, even from afar.
Also, being as we are in the midst of the holiday season, we are still waiting to hear of more holiday offerings — especially when it comes to eats and treats! There has been plenty of holiday merchandise and collectibles, as well as some desserts at Trolley Treats, but we are missing those holly jolly treats in other areas!
With these extended hours, it makes sense to have more for Guests to enjoy. Another area we would love to see reopen would be the Pacific Wharf. The Wharf offers so many different food and beverage options, from clam chowder in bread bowls to margaritas. It also is already a large outdoor dining area — which is perfect for health and safety protocol!
There is no official news of more extensions like characters or holiday offerings, but we are hoping for a possibility with the Disneyland Resort’s hours extension!
