Disney has just released some exciting details about the latest EPCOT festival coming to Walt Disney World Resort: the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Here are all of the details you need to know before visiting Disney World in early 2021.
What Is the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts?
In the original announcement of this modified Festival of the Arts for the pandemic-era in 2021, Disney shared the following:
The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts offers fun for the whole family. Here is just a sketch of what you can expect when the event debuts in January:
- Indulge in over 15 Food Studios serving culinary art all around World Showcase
- Explore and purchase the brilliant and diverse work of Disney and other invited artists on display in marketplaces encircling World Showcase Lagoon
- Step into the scene at special photo locations scattered around the park
- Participate in a paint-by-number mural that serves as a collaborative art project for all
- Watch as visiting artists create magic right before your eyes
- Catch performances by favorite EPCOT musical artists Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors.
- Join an artful scavenger hunt as you search for Figment around World Showcase
- Shop for festival-exclusive merchandise
When Is the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts?
The 2021 dates for the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts are from January 8 through February 11, giving Guests plenty of time to eat all the delicious food and unleash their inner artists.
As shared on Disney Parks Blog, here is an official description of the 2021 event:
This global celebration mixes visual, culinary and performing arts from around the world into an entertaining blend that’s fun for the entire family. More than 100 Disney and visiting artists will display their work, and you can show off your own talents by participating in interactive experiences such as a larger-than-life paint-by-number mural or learning to draw some of your favorite Disney characters. You can also step into famous works of art, thanks to artful photo ops.
You’ll also discover dishes to feast on with delicious Disney twists and art-inspired menus. And, of course, no visit is complete without finding the perfect piece of artwork or Festival merchandise to bring home.
What’s New at the Festival of the Arts in 2021?
Disney has shared that the Voices of Liberty will be performing a variety of fan-favorite Disney songs at the 2021 festival. This music group is incredibly talented. Before the pandemic shut the parks temporarily, you could find them performing at the American Adventure pavilion in the World Showcase. It’s great that fans young and old will get to hear some beautiful Disney tunes at the festival.
Voices of Liberty will take centerstage at America Gardens Theatre with a brand-new showcase – The Disney Songbook. From “When You Wish Upon a Star” to “Let It Go,” the ensemble will perform Disney songs and celebrate the artistry of Disney composers and lyricists.
New Food Studio
A new food studio will be arriving at the festival in 2021 — and it looks delicious!
Vibrante & Vívido Food Studio, a new location between France and Morocco, will feature a mouthwatering (and photo-ready) chilled seafood cocktail with octopus, scallops, shrimp, black garlic aïoli, tomato coconut sauce and serrano lime oil. Or, indulge on Blue Corn Pupusa stuffed with cheese and topped with shredded pork, guajillo and árbol chile sauce, cabbage slaw and aji amarillo crema.
What’s Returning to the Festival of the Arts in 2021?
As we have shared, Guests can expect plenty of food studios to enjoy throughout the festival season. “Food Studios located around World Showcase are where you can view – and eat – great works of art,” Disney announced.
Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine
This offering allows Guests to try a variety of foods and receive a special treat! “Take part in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, where you’ll use the Festival Passport as a guide to purchase five vibrant food items and receive a complimentary, tasty technicolor treat.”
Other Live Performances
Disney Parks Blog announced that other live performances will also be coming to the festival.
Over at World Showplace, you can catch live performances by “Art Defying Gravity,” a spectacle of thrilling strength acts, and “Visual Art in Performance,” a high-energy, onstage visual artist who paints favorite Disney characters before your eyes in just a matter of minutes.
Figment’s Brush with the Masters
This is another returning festival favorite!
The popular Figment’s Brush with the Masters returns this year, as well, inviting you to help Figment learn about art on a scavenger hunt around World Showcase; you will be able to purchase a map and stickers for the family-friendly hunt at a variety of merchandise locations.
