With the COVID-19 pandemic throwing many of The Walt Disney Company’s plans into disarray in both 2020 and 2021, many Disney World fans have been wondering if the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts would be happening next year.
Fortunately, Disney Parks Blog has just announced that the popular Festival will begin on January 8, 2021!
They shared these details about the upcoming event:
The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts offers fun for the whole family. Here is just a sketch of what you can expect when the event debuts in January:
Indulge in over 15 Food Studios serving culinary art all around World Showcase
Explore and purchase the brilliant and diverse work of Disney and other invited artists on display in marketplaces encircling World Showcase Lagoon
Step into the scene at special photo locations scattered around the park
Participate in a paint-by-number mural that serves as a collaborative art project for all
Watch as visiting artists create magic right before your eyes
Catch performances by favorite EPCOT musical artists Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors.
Join an artful scavenger hunt as you search for Figment around World Showcase
Shop for festival-exclusive merchandise
It sounds like the event will include many annual traditions, such as the photo op scenes strategically placed around the EPCOT theme park and the paint-by-number mural, which typically features Figment!
It is worth noting, however, that this year’s Festival is officially called “The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts,” which insinuates some experiences may be limited as Walt Disney World continues its phased reopening process.
This is very similar to how Disney handled the 2020 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival.
Disney Parks Blog also promised “more details on the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in the weeks and months to come,” so stay tuned for the latest information!
