This has been a strange year, and many of us are looking forward to the holiday season to help lift our spirits!

Arguably one of the best parts of Thanksgiving is watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. 50 million people tune in each year to watch the balloons and floats glide down the streets of New York City.

Unfortunately, this year Disney will not have anything to represent the brand at this year’s parade. While we definitely understand as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is being heavily modified for its 94th year due to the coronavirus, some of us are still a bit disappointed.

No spectators will be lining the streets, no bands will be marching, and no one will be carrying the oversized balloons. Balloons will still float, but this year they will be pulled by small trucks. Our favorite balloon is the Olaf balloon that was a highlight of the parade for the past few years. This will be the first parade since 2017 that Olaf will not be giving warms hugs on the parade route. You can read more about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and see the complete lineup of floats here.

This is not surprising though, as this year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade had to be adjusted and Disney is hosting their own Holiday special, which debuts later that evening. The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration is debuting on Thanksgiving Day this year and is packed with fabulous performers to entertain your family this holiday!

But that is not the only holiday magic Disney is bringing its fans this year, you can also look forward to this year we also have ABC’s Holiday Singalong later in the Christmas season too! You can see a sneak peek of the Holiday Singalong which features Chloe X Halle Bailey singing “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” from everyone’s favorite Disney movie, Frozen

So, are you sad that Olaf will not be in the Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow? Will you still be tuning into The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration? Let us know in the comments.
