Disney recently announced that Disneyland Resort’s Disney California Adventure theme park will be partially reopening for shopping and dining this holiday season!
The news was exciting for Disneyland fans, who have been closely watching for any reopening information amid The Walt Disney Company’s ongoing battle with California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office.

Governor Newsom recently released stringent guidelines that require large theme parks to only reopen — and then at 25% capacity — once their counties reach the COVID-19 “minimal” Yellow tier.
Although Disney has not yet confirmed an official opening date for Buena Vista Street’s shops and restaurants, photos taken by ITM today show positive steps forward inside the gates of the theme park.
In the above photo, we can see that workers inside of Disney California Adventure theme park are adding faux fruit to the Buena Vista Street fruit stand. Previously, the snack stand was completely empty during the seven-month closure, so this indicates that Cast Members are staging the area for Guests to return.
Here, what appear to be boxes of Christmas ornaments and boxes, perhaps, featuring a Christmas tree graphic are visible in the windows of the vintage-style Los Feliz Five & Dime store.
The same festive display — and one of theme park’s many hand sanitizing and hand-washing stations — can be seen in the above picture as well.

It is worth noting that although Los Feliz Five & Dime is not mentioned by name, it is attached to Elias & Co., which is featured on Disney Parks Blog’s official list of establishments that will be available to Guests:
- Elias & Co.
- At Julius Katz & Sons,
- Kingswell Camera Shop
- Trolley Treats
- Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
- Carthay Circle Lounge,
- Smokejumpers Grill
