Marvel Studios insiders are now reporting that the long-awaited third installment of the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise has finally begun production.
After disagreements at the highest corporate levels, mass heartache, and a life-altering pandemic, Marvel’s next project, operating under the working title Serenity Now, has started filming in New York City, confirming reports from early October.

Murphy’s Multiverse reports the following from Expocine 2020,
Camila Pacheco, the Executive Marketing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment in Brazil, (who was wearing a Spider-Man shirt mind you), told attendees that the film had already started production and that we would get our first look at the film THIS DECEMBER 2020. She alternated between the words preview and teaser trailer when discussing the project but the point of the matter is, we should be getting some info on the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film sometime for the holiday season. The film was confirmed to keep its December 16th, 2021 release date.
Now, there are still several questions and rumors surrounding Tom Holland’s third standalone Spider-Man film, including the potential addition of past Peter Parkers, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and the confusion surrounding the project’s actual name. The lack of clarity has also permitted the rise to the speculation that Tom Hardy’s Venom could also be included.
What is known is that it will take place after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home–which included Parker’s identity being revealed to the world–and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Stephen Strange will make an appearance of some magnitude.
Hopefully, this report is correct and we will get an official first look at what is to come this December, and Sony and Marvel can continue to hold onto their December 2021 release date.
Are you excited to finally get a first look at Spider-Man 3? Do you think that the film will still make its 2021 release date? Let us know in the comments!
