Hot Dog! A New Attraction!
This new attraction is an ode to the classic Disney cartoons, filled with the same iconic flare of Mickey and Minnie – updated for the 21st century. The attraction embraces the fun slapstick comedy that we know and love from classic Mickey cartoons. Guests can expect appearances by all your favorites from Mickey’s gang. We also get to meet a new bird friend named Chuuby. He is sure to charm his way into the hearts of Disneyland guests. He already nuzzled into the hearts of Walt Disney World guests who cannot wait to share him with their West Coast pals!

Let’s Talk Details
As for the ride construction, it fuses vintage cartoon aesthetics with modern technology. Runaway Railway joins together digital screens with classic dark ride elements. In fact, it seems this evolution could be the modern age of the dark ride. Mickey and Minnie crash across Runnamuck Park, filled with elaborate landscapes of the American frontier, a retro amusement park, a twirling tornado and more. On your adventure, you’ll brave crashing waterfalls, an undersea expedition, and a crazy machine gone wild. Everything on the ride is perfectly blended between traditional set pieces and cutting-edge audio-animatronic technology.
As I mentioned, this ride is a form of the evolving dark ride. However, Disney Park fans will note similar mechanisms that have been immersed in a different story from classic ride favorites, such as Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s California Adventure. The audio-animatronics and adventure setting are reminiscent of Frozen Ever After at Epcot. The ride will transport guests from a magical day at Disney into your favorite Mickey Mouse shorts and back.

Multiple Experiences on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
You will want to ride this ride again and again. No, seriously. The more you ride this locomotive-gone-to-pieces, the more fun secrets you’ll discover. The ride looks different from every train car. Be sure to use Fastpass+ for this experience so you can get back in the queue quickly. There’s even a hidden plot with Pluto and a picnic basket that is particularly interesting to look out for.
